Trade decline between China and Europe


China's total foreign trade volume in 2012 reached more than 3.86 trillion USD, growing by 6.2 percent year on year. The growth rate is 16.3%  less than 2011. China will still face a hostile foreign trade environment as a result of sluggish demand, increasing production costs, fewer orders and trade protectionism.

China's biggest trading partner is Europe, trading declined 3.7 percent year on year in 2012. The total trade volume in 2012 between China and Cyprus is 1.2 billion USD, increased 5.4 percent year on year in 2012.The import from Cyprus to China in 2012 is 119 million Euro, increased 351.6 percent year on year.

Since 2006, Cyprus Business community express interest in China market ahead of President Papadopoulos official state visit to Beijing. With this background ICIF partner with CIIM (Cyprus International Institute of Management, FT Top 30 Ranked Executive Education Worldwide) to organize ICIF seminar: Doing Business with China. Ambassador of The People’s Republic of China to Cyprus H.E Zhao Yali officiated the seminar. Also presents was Cyprus National Chamber of Commerce President together with some 100 CEOs and senior management. ICIF-CIIM initiate was the 1st Doing business with China in the country.
